What Makes Us Uncommon
|
Why We're Here (An
Uncommon Passion - The Symptoms)
To some, motorcycles are just a cheap alternative to a car. A few dollars
more and the motorcycle is forgotten. To others, motorcycles are a phase, exciting for a
while, they soon move on to other things. But...to some of us, motorcycles are a PASSION!
They represent technical artistry, freedom, excitement, competition and high performance.
Riding well is a real achievement that takes constant practice. Owning one motorcycle is
seldom enough. We can sit and stare at their engineered beauty or ride for hours without
any destination. It's lust, it's pride, it's a part of who we are. If you are one of
this passionate group, welcome! We understand. We are here to help you with your needs and
desires.
Uncommon MotorCycles IS
NOT a big, glitzy mega dealer. We offer personal and professional
service to you, the rider uncommonly attracted to these two
wheeled marvels. Do you often catch yourself staring at a motorcycle
thinking, "Damn that looks good!"? We do it all the time. Ever planned on
a short ride and found yourself hours later at some distant gas station?
Been there, done that. During the long winter months do you sometimes wander down to the garage,
uncover your bike to look at it or even sit on it, dreaming of
good weather? You're not alone. Others may think you're strange, we
think you're perfectly normal. If you already feel
these symptoms or if they're just starting to appear, stop in soon. You can't be
cured but we can make you feel a lot better!

What We Offer (The
Prescription - Here, Take One of These)
We specialize in the
Royal Enfield line
of current production classic motorcycles. These motorcycles are stuck in
the 50's and proud to be there! We provide complete spare parts availability as
well as service. Visit RoyalEnfieldERIE for details.
Uncommon MotorCycles is proud to
carry the entire Moto Guzzi line including the 750cc Breva, the V11 Sport
and of course their superb euro-cruisers. These are V-Twins done
differently. Guzzi has the motorcycle press
buzzing. Visit Moto
Guzzi Erie and see what all the fuss is about!
Considering our background we
just had to carry Gas Gas trials motorcycles. Trials riding is a new Olympic
sport with a long history. Check out the bikes at Gas Gas ERIE.
Tommi Ahavala, 92 World and 99 USA champion, was here twice to give a trials riding demonstration.
If you have never seen championship trials riding, you have to check it out!
We can perform all required
services and Pennsylvania state inspections. We can also modify your motorcycle for high
performance, sport touring or whatever you desire. Maybe you just want to do
something nice for your bike! If you are looking for a reputable and
expert service department for your current production motorcycle, we offer a range of
services and parts for many brands. If you have
recently rescued a motorcycle from an owner that didn't care, bring it
in. We'll make you both feel better! |
Who We Are (The Doctor
- Is In!)
The passionate
spark that started all of this is Peter Askey. Peter began riding
motorcycles in the 60's on a Ducati and eventually took up the sport of
trials riding where he developed his skill, right up to the level of
Expert in AMA sanctioned competitions. Check out his scrapbook!
He has modified a great many motorcycles for high performance and better
handling for both himself and others and has become a source of
technical knowledge to many riders and competitors.
Over the years, Peter has
developed a huge circle of contacts and friendships in both the business
and competitive portions of the motorcycle industry. This intimate
involvement keeps him abreast of current developments and future plans,
and combined with his long experience gives Uncommon MotorCycles the
special atmosphere that riders sense soon after coming in.

Where We Are (The
Clinic - Trained Professionals On Staff)
We are located in the northwestern corner of
Pennsylvania, just east of Erie on Route 20. You can easily get here
from Cleveland, Pittsburgh or Buffalo using Interstates 90, 79 and 86. Of course, you may wish
to make the ride a whole lot more enjoyable and take some of the back roads. If so, we can
give you some ideas about possible routes. There is some excellent scenery
nearby and surprisingly good roads. Give yourself some time and enjoy the
trip.
